Why Luminarc ?

The colour

Solid colour is a colouring technique where metallic oxide particles are added to the glass at fusing point. The resulting colour depends on the amount of pigment added and the composition of the glass itself, giving various hues of

  • green
  • blue
  • violet
  • gray

With the solid colour technique, Luminarc guarantees the colour durability of its products, the colour won’t change even when using a dish washer.

Decoration

Most of the patterns on the glass are done by using the screen painting process. This technique involves using a stencil to apply enamel paint (tinted glass) to the exterior surface of the object by layering different colours one after the other. The object is then heated up to permanently seal the painted pattern.

Packaging

The final product is then carefully packed, mostly by hand and prepared to be sent off to the shop. Luminarc products are made all over the world – in the factory at Arques (Nord-Pas de Calais) as well as at Arc International subsidiaries (Spain, USA, China and the Emirates). Thousands of Luminarc coloured boxes are delivered each day by trucks, trains or boats all over the world.
